The Deep State and 9/11

The unthinkable — that elements inside the state would conspire with criminals to kill innocent civilians — has become not only thinkable but commonplace in the last century. A seminal example was in French Algeria, where dissident elements of the French armed forces, resisting General de Gaulle's plans for Algerian independence, organized as the Secret Army Organization and bombed civilians indiscriminately, with targets including hospitals and schools. [1] Critics like Alexander Litvinenko, who was subsequently murdered in London in November 2006, have charged that the 1999 bombings of apartment buildings around Moscow, attributed to Chechen separatists, were in fact the work of the Russian secret service (FSB). [2]

UK Coal is about to devastate a beautiful part of the Derbyshire countryside by starting an open cast mine. So ‘Leave it in the Ground’ and Earth First! decided to make some noise over it with people from Derby, Nottingham Leeds, Sheffield, Manchester and Brighton as well as other places, all travelled to UK Coals Head office in Doncaster to make some noise.

Campaigner jailed for trespass at US radar base

Lindis Percy, the veteran campaigner against US bases in Britain, was yesterday sentenced to one month in jail. Christine Dean, a fellow member of the Campaign for the Accountability of American Bases, said Percy was sentenced at Scarborough magistrates court after being found guilty of aggravated trespass at the Fylingdales early warning radar station in North Yorkshire. The station was recently upgraded and will be part of America's missile defence system. Percy, convicted under the 1994 Criminal Justice and Public Order Act, has been jailed before for her protests.

Around 70 people had set of to travel on a bank holiday Monday which is no easy task as public transport has a natural tendency not to run or has a limited service on bank holidays, for a picnic in a remote part of Derbyshire. The weather reports had all predicted thundery showers for the day, which seems to be normal for a bank holiday outing.
