The 3rd National Occupy Confererence, hosted by Occupy Sheffield, starts today in the squatted Citadel of Hope in Sheffield city centre (map).

The below agenda is subject to change and further suggestions from Proposed Agenda Points for the Conference will be taken into account which will probably result in some parallel sessions with locations tbc

12-4pm - Tea, cake and kindness - weekly camp outreach event
12pm-1pm - Cooperatives, Credit Unions and Experience of a Social Care Coop. Speaker: John Halstead. 2012 is the UN year of the Co-op
1pm-2pm - A voice for the voiceless - A Rally of the 99% at Sheffield Town Hall to raise awareness of the issues of people without a voice
1-3pm - Lunch and a chance to see Sheffield (and the Town Hall Rally!)
2-3pm - Perma Culture - A Persistent and Empowering Culture by Richard Clare
3pm-4pm - Talk on fractional reserve banking by Alan Easter from Positive Money about the current banking system
4-5pm - Richard Murphy talk on UK tax
5-6pm - Richard White - Exiting the Market: a call to recognise and develop practical alternates to capitalism
6pm-8pm - Political Animations by Mike
7-8pm - Evening meal
8pm - poetry by Tony Guest and friends
8pm-9pm - Working Group Workshops (Tranquility, security, outreach, Non-violent direct action, process, site design, tech, facilitation/consensus decision making, agenda setting/minuting etc)
9pm-10pm - Set agenda for Sundays discussions
8pm-11pm - Occupy Benefit Gig at The Dove and Rainbow (Heartshead Square, just down the hill from Occupy Sheffield camp, see map) powered by Tribe of Xanadu - Entry by donation (3 buckets for donations – 1 for Archer Project, 1 for Occupy Sheffield and 1 for the band) - Roy Bailey and possible special guest, more artists tbc
