As news reaches us that Brendon Barber TUC General Secretary is to have a secret meeting with David Cameron this week -possibly as early as tomorrow. Now beer and sandwiches for the brothers at Number 10 aint been on the Tory agenda for sometime so why the sudden urge to entertain Barber in Christmas week?
Could it be that Cameron may be a little woried about the TUC mobilising 500,000 people onto the streets in March – that the police have been having a word in his ear that they might be overwhelmed?
No doubt Cameron will seek assurances from Barber about the march, the stewarding etc. No doubt Barber will provide them – or will the TUC bottlers call the whole thing off? It’s a sign of how worried the government is over the wave of protests that they look to the TUC for salvation. It should encourage us all – this government is wobbly.
Did we tell you that The Lib Dem conference is coming to Sheffield City Hall from March 11-13 – the first time Sheffield has hosted a conference by a national political party. So if The TUC call of said demo lets build for this:
