The launch is scheduled to coincide with the last full Leeds City Council meeting before the fate of the Newton Lane Open Cast Coal Mine is determined. Our launch on this day gives us the opportunity to talk to all 99 Leeds City Council councilors as they arrive for the meeting.
We'll also be asking the public and councilors to sign a letter objecting to the open cast scheme and will also be handing out leaflets about the campaign to stop the open cast mine. The media will be invited to the launch, which will help to get YANC on the map!
