We have an incredibly talented line-up, some special guests, and the promise of some very special numbers. The Monkeywrenchers will be kicking off with a well-crafted set-list of rebel and outlaw songs, and one or two surprises up their sleeves. Local folk and country star David Broad will be digging deep into the dustbowl to bring us Woodie Guthrie's finest and plenty more besides. And 'Awesome' Pete Wright has now recruited a full backing band, playing as Johnny Cashless and The Tipton Trio - We've heard Pete is so far in character he's even going to bed wearing black! It promises to be Awesome!
Fancy dress is optional, but we have some great prizes for the 3 winners of our fancy dress competition. You don't even have to formally enter, our secret panel of judges will be mingling in there, and the results will be announced towards the end of the night.
You'll be hard pushed not to win a prize on the tombola stall. There's are some top-notch stuff to be won, and tickets come at only 5 for £1 (or 20p each for the hard up.)
Besides our feast of a line-up, there are visual treats in the form of the Bonnie & Clyde movie and various other themed projections, and we'll have music from Elvis, Serge & Brigitte, Mick Harvey, Georgie Fame, and many more who sadly can't be with us on the night.
There'll be cheap drinks on offer throughout the night, including our fantastic Molotov Cocktails, guaranteed to put a twist in your two-step.
And for those wanting a little intellectual stimulation (or possibly just a badge or T-shirt), the extensive Leeds ABC bookstall will be on hand until 10.00pm.
Come and join us for a great night and support your local Anarchist Black Cross group.
Friday 9th November 7.00pm 'til Midnight at The Common Place, Wharf Street (opposite The Duck & Drake pub), Leeds.
