their world - for good! www.grownupgreen.org.uk is aimed at the majority of us who think
we ought to be doing something to help the environment. We just don’t know what it is or how
it might fit in our lives. This website takes a questioning, curious look at sustainability with
articles written by contributors from all sectors and by the users of the website themselves. It
aims to support people to make more informed choices about the things they buy, the energy
they use, how they dispose of waste and much more.
grownupgreen, which is being produced by the charity Projects in Partnership, is tackling the
issues in a new way. Development Manager, Caro Hart explained:
“We are asking the difficult questions; What are the choices we have as consumers? Can I
choose to act more sustainably without reducing my quality of life? Who’s making the
arguments and what do they believe? How can I prioritise these things in a busy life? What do
other ordinary people think about these things?
“From beaches to barbeques, from waste to weddings, we want to explore what’s out there.
We want to give people the information they need to make up their own minds on what will
work for them”
With its irreverent style and its practical message, grownupgreen will appeal to many people
who wouldn’t otherwise start finding out about “green” issues. It may not change the world, at
least not this week, but it has a definite contribution to make.
