An article suggesting that work is approved and going ahead in the local paper today. This is at odds with both the response of the Peak Park Authority, at a recent meeting, and the usual planning procedure, that requires the draft Orders to be published and a Public Enquiry to be held before *any* building work begins.

Sainsburys birmingham depot blocked

Police turn up
Sainsbury’s was blocked from 0130 am until 0700 am when the activists decided to call it a day. The protest was due to start at 11 o’clock pm as a coordinated national protest aimed at Sainsburys for supplying milk from GM fed cows, the action done in support of local farmers who have been campaigning for a better deal on their non GM contaminated milk.

In the latest episode of Brithdir Mawr roundhouse in South Wales the couple that live there have been fined £400 each for failing to demolish the house but the battle to save the house continues.

Today a High Court judge ruled that Stancliffe Stone (owned by Marshalls) do not automatically have the right to re-open the two quarries near the nine ladies stone circle on Stanton Moor in the Peak District.

Visitors to Haddon Hall, North Derbyshire, were today alerted to the intention of its owner, Lord Edward Manners, to destroy a large area of natural habitat adjoining the famous Nine Ladies stone circle through opencast quarrying.

Marshalls - Ripping the heart out of the Peak District

A small group of dedicated protesters struck another blow at Marshalls PLC at their Mansfield Woodhouse storage depot on Monday 17th May.
A protestor managed to lock on to the gates despite struggling with security guards that Marshalls now have to employ, due to previous actions against them over their plans to quarry at the Nine Ladies and rip the heart out of the Peak District

Four people from Sheffield went down to The Land is Ours' action in Pembrokeshire, South Wales, to save the Brithdir Mawr eco-roundhouse and had a great time of very fluffy, very effective and creative direct action.
