The key message in the URLis the Governments are no longer financially stable and will be unable to pay their debts. It is pointless to buy index-linked gilts of Savings Certificates because the Government is bound to default on its debts.

A better investment would be to buy jars and airlocks and lots of sugar and start brewing your own. A Tokay yeast will give a little more alcohol before it stops working.
While it is true that Governments are likely to default on their index linked stocks, it is quite certain that money in Premium Bonds will be inflated to near valueless once the Government starts printing money, so Premium Bonds should be your first spending source.
But does no one know what sort of people are putting out that MarketOracle?
On the Telly today after the Brown and King interst rate cut and print money run was announced, a saver said: "Spend the lot and claim off the Government."
It is not just the Commercial Bankers who have been criminally negligent it is Brown and King and many of their predecessors.
