There's a difference between liberty and licence. Some of us have learned the lessons of history when it comes to letting fascists organise. I imagine, being white and almost certainly middle-class, you're not too worried about being spat at in the street Mr Smith, or having your windows put through by those who buy into the BNP's lies. You expect me to be "most certainly middle-class",my friend you could be no further from the truth,I don`t profess to be super intelligent and as about learing lessons from history,it is my opinion that all heirachies to be treacherous and dictatorial. As for name calling,this in my humble opinion displays a lack of empathy,human understanding and indeed,intellect. I have many friends and associates of colour whose opinions of these far right minority bigots is to simply ignore them or at the least debate with them over thier policies,which usually points out the fact that all of us on these islands in fact are immigrants somewhere along the line,mine being Romany. Sometimes the picture is not always black and white,excuse the pun. It is of my opinion and expirence that by banning and gagging opinions can only give more of a platform to an otherwise minority opinion that is usually ignored. I am a militant athesist,would that give me credence to violently attack church goers and street preachers?

If you were an Asian shopkeeper in Armley you might have some understanding of what it means to encounter daily racial hatred. Since you are not, you might at least use your imagination and empathise with the victims of racism, something you seem unable, or unwilling, to do. Instead, you prefer to defend the BNP polluting our streets with their racist filth. That you do that from a suposedly liberal position does not make it any better. Evil only flourishes because good people choose to do nothing about it, and liberals like yourself were complicit in the rise of Hitler, and the subsequent murder of Millions of people, including thousands of Romany Gypsys. Fascism is a fundamentally violent ideology, whatever current mask Nick Griffin currently chooses to hide behind, and when his racist foot soldiers bring their racist hatred onto the streets once more, as they did in the past, they deserve to be confronted not ignored.
