Suite 22 stops selling fur after one demo

the carrot is mightier than the sword | 14.10.2006 19:27 | Animal Liberation | Sheffield

Today the owner of Suite 22, Sheffield, handed a letter to activists saying that they would not stock fur in the future, after only one demo of less than an hour.

Today three activists held a demonstration outside Suite 22 on Devonshire Street, Sheffield, who have been selling rabbit fur. Suite 22 (formally called Whites) had been found to be selling fur last year and had removed it after the promise of a demonstration. However, when activists again found fur this year the owner told them that last year's fur had been sold on E-bay instead of in her shop! As soon as the demonstration began today the fur was removed from the shop but the owner refused to confirm in writing that Suite 22 would not stock fur in the future so the demonstration continued (and activists were threatened with violence by someone who is believed to be the owner's brother). However, in less than an hour the owner did a complete u-turn and the following statement was handed to activists:
Suite 22
123 Devenshire St
Sheffield
S3 7SB
14/10/06

We currently have no stock of fur and have no future plans of stocking fur.
Yours faithfully
K Hardy

This is what evolution is all about. Well done people of the future!! Bring it on!!

Still, we have a long way to go whilst ignorant human life-forms are hell bent on picking away at dead animal corpses for personal pleasure and wearing their skins to try and assert their dominance over ' a lesser species'.

Never-the-less, this is enforced "normality" to them, pity, it will take a good while for them to sus the potential gains of a universal harmony. No war, No killing, No exploitation et al.

For now, all is war - on humans and animals. No peace till they desist en masse. Till then we're screwed by them through and through.

Keep on fighting people.

How fucking deluded, how fucking archaic and barbaric to interfere with animalkind at any level!

Threatened with violence

15.10.2006 00:59

Over the last month anti-fur protestors in both Leeds and Gloucester have also been violently assaulted by shop owners that are selling real fur products.

There is obviously some communication going on between those involved in the fur trade regarding their latest tactic; to violently assault peaceful demonstrators who are against the fur trade.

The only sure advice that can be given to anti-fur protestors is to video the entire demonstration.

Video evidence can then be submitted to the court when a prosecution is brought against the assailants.

Congratulations, chaps and chapesses!
Another nail in the fur trade's coffin, and another attempt to sneak fur in the back door nobbled :0)

good one on the success from your demo!

the issue of leather jackets opens up loads more discussions and opinions, as many people wear second hand leather jackets.

Rabbit Stew

You bunch of morons. Who gives a shit about rabbit fur? I personally enjoy eating rabbit flesh. I find dealing with bones from the small animal can be somewhat tiresome. I recommend anyone making a rabbit stew watches out for those pesky little rib bones.

Leather or PVC?

If leather coats bags shoes etc, are bad, should we should all change to man made plastics...?

Leather

18.10.2006 00:08

It is a standard tired tactic of those who are uncomfortable with protesters to attack themfor wearing leather. This makes the attacker feel smug and protects them having to engage in any real thought or changing any or their own behaviour.

But how do you know whether the shoes or coat a demonstrator is wearing really are leather. There are some very well made shoes and coats that look like leather and are actually totally vegan. I have a pair of shiny black corporate shoes useful for meetings with government ministers that are actually totally plant based.
