Hot Chocolate Revolution Threaten Corporate Power

Clandestino | 18.09.2005 10:24 | Sheffield

The hot chocolate drink hasn't changed much over the last fifty years. However, vegans have uncovered a post-moderist way to make this comforting bed-time drink, which could modestly threaten the corporate power of Neslte and Cadbury Swepes.

The method is simple.

Add 4 squares of dark chocolate to a pan containing 4 tablespoons of water (to serve 1 person).

Stir continuously while heating the pan; the chocolate should melt into a smooth paste.

Next, very slowly, add a cup of milk - still heating and stiring.

Remove from the heat as liquid approaches boiling.

Now, fetch some of your favourite biscuits from the tin!

Vegans can use soya milk and Greens Organic Dark Chocolate.

Is this relevent when historic changes are now taking place in europes political map. In today's German general election the new left party will probably hold the balance of power. That's news!

That'll beGreen and Blacks Organic Dark Chocolate from Cadbury Schweppes would it?

And afterwards you wash the mug and pan using Ecover, right?

"* Ecover has long been associated with Group 4, the security firm which runs the Campsfield detention centre for asylum seekers and has been severely criticised for its violent handling of anti-roads protests. So while it is a good green buy, many people may choose to avoid it for other ethical reasons."

Not that I could care less about voting, but German elections are a wee bit important than vegan hot choccie (though I am sure it is delish). What it is is fucking life-style radicalism which is in effect consumption, if loads of people all of a sudden start using that recipie I am sure that Nestle or some other CAPITALIST corporation would start producing it. When will people realise that consumption is a very poor substitute for direcr political action?

I suppose that this is what has happened to Thatcher's children who weren't politicized until they read "No Logo" and lifestyle magazines.

How very, very, sad..

Blimey. There aren't half some sensitive people on here suddenly, eh?
I should know I'm one of them, but, I do think that the Veggie chocolate poster probably realises anyway, that the world is full of political shit and capitalism too.
Thanks for the gen on Group 4/Ecover though, bit of a shame if the link is true. Just as well that I can't afford Ecover anyway!!........but I do like Chocolate.
